Southland Ballet Academy offers year-round training for ages 3 to adult with locations in Fountain Valley & Irvine.
Founded in 1983, SBA cultivates, trains and inspires an appreciation for classical ballet from beginner to professional dancer. Since opening its doors as a ballet studio, SBA and director Salwa Rizkalla have secured a national and international reputation and played a prominent role in grooming world-class dancers. Their vision is to perpetuate the discipline and technique of the Vaganova method of classical ballet.
Dancers trained at SBA have gone on to perform with companies around the world, to date: American Ballet Theatre, Houston Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Ballet Austin, Eugene Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Washington Ballet, California Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Hartford Ballet, and others.
Southland Ballet Academy is the home school for Festival Ballet Theatre, Orange County’s premier professional ballet company. Festival Ballet Theatre presents a season of full-length performances including The Nutcracker (December 9-24) and Coppelia (April 27-28) at the Irvine Barclay Theatre.
