A spooktacular Halloween is creeping up, and we’ve got the ultimate list of Halloween events in Southern California! From pumpkin patches to haunted mazes to trick-or-treating, this year’s Halloween is better than ever!

Pageant of the Monsters
Laguna Beach | October 27, 28, 29 & 31, 2023


Only resurrected every 5 years, the Pageant of the Monsters is clawing its way back to Laguna Beach! Presented by the Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters, this monstrously delightful Halloween event transforms the Pageant’s backstage into a family-friendly haunted house with an artistic twist.

Themed the “Maze of the Minotaur,” guests will be directed through the amphitheater, workshops and stage, which have been transformed into the labyrinth from the ancient Greek legend. Join the valiant Warrior Theseus and embark on a harrowing mission to rescue the Minotaur’s captives and navigate the twisting passages to find a means of escape.

In addition to the haunted house, there’s also a scarecrow competition and even more fiendish fun on Festival of the Arts grounds. Enjoy the spooky Alien Autopsy and Demented Chef sideshows, multiple Halloween photo ops, browse art displays, get up-close with creepy crawly creatures from The Reptile Zoo, and lots more art projects, games and ghoulish delights.

Tickets are $20-25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Not recommended for children under 5. Costumes encouraged for kids ages 12 and under.

Dia de los Muertos at Museum of Latin American Art
Long Beach | October 29, 2023

MOLAA’s Día de los Muertos: Hecho con Amor / Made with Love honors their partnership with Mexico and exhibition, Festin de Sabores – an intimate look at the richness and the complexity of Mexican cuisine.

Join MOLAA for their annual Day of the Dead Family Festival featuring over 36 merchants, nine delicious food stations, beer and wine, and sweets for the kids and kids at heart. Live performances and tunes spun all day by DJ Caveman. Kids can enjoy the face painting station, sugar skull workshop, printmaking station, and more. Go dressed in Day of the Dead regalia and enter to win prizes. Ballet Folklorica Nueva Antequera, Ballet Folkorica de El Salvador, and Danza Azteca Xochipilli will be performing.

The event is free to attend. Reservations not required, but encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome. Parking is $15 per car.

Enchanted Country Pumpkins
Brea | October 5-31, 2023


In operation since 1972, Enchanted Country Pumpkin Patch and fall festival extravaganza has something for everyone this season! Lots of thrills on huge slides, inflatable obstacle courses and jumpers, ride on kid-sized John Deere Tractors, farm animal exhibit, and carnival games galore with awesome prizes! Food vendors on select days.

Admission: $5 per adult, $3 for children 12 and under, and free for toddlers 3 and under. Admission includes picture taking stations and play pumpkin. Attraction and activity tickets are additional charge, prices vary. Purchase tickets on-site.

The Stanley family has transformed this entire Aliso Viejo neighborhood into the Nightmare Before Christmas. Each house in the cul de sac is dedicated to a different scene from the movie; the characters come alive with lights and sound. Donations are accepted benefiting the Camp Pendleton Marines. Lakewood Sheriff’s Station is inviting the community to attend this fun-filled spooky family event. Enjoy food, pony rides, petting zoo, pumpkin painting, face paining, small kid’s maze, games, and food. Plus, check out some first responder vehicles and public safety equipment on display. Entrance to the Haunted Jail and Kids Maze is free. Some attractions, games, and food require the purchase of tickets which can be purchased the day of the event.

Fairbrook Manor Home Haunt
Long Beach | October 21-22 & 27-29, 2023

Pack up your family and friends and visit Fairbrook Manor for spooky photo ops, laughs, and screams. This home haunt in Long Beach welcomed 3,200 guests last year. Entry is a $5 donation, plus donations for community food drive is appreciated. No scare hours on October 29 from 1-4pm and display only on October 31.

Halloween Events at Lil’ Chef School
Irvine | October 19-27, 2023

Make mummy pizzas from pizza dough from scratch at the Adult N’ Me Workshop on October 19. Whip up candy corn popcorn balls, chocolate chip pretzel bars, and chocolate toffee during Fun Halloween Treats class on October 20. Make pumpkin face meat pies, jack-o-lantern pops, and Jack Skellington Oreo pops during the Jack-O-Lantern Workshop on October 22. Drop off the kids for Parent’s Night Out & Costume Party on October 27, where the kids get to make rice crispy chocolate spiders, mummy pizzas, and bloody mozzarella sticks. Historical Cemetery Tour
Long Beach | October 28, 2023

Enjoy graveside performances by community theater actors portraying the life of the person lying at rest. Actors perform in period-appropriate costumes. The tour is self-guided. First-person performances last 10 minutes and are repeated every 20 minutes. Attractions include Japanese American History, Día de los Muertos installation, talks by historians, author signings of local history books, and displays of Long Beach history. The tour is appropriate for families and all ages.

In operation since 1972, Enchanted Country Pumpkin Patch and fall festival extravaganza has something for everyone this season! Lots of thrills on huge slides, inflatable obstacle courses and jumpers, ride on kid-sized John Deere Tractors, farm animal exhibit, and carnival games galore with awesome prizes! Food vendors on select days.
