Japanese Friendship Garden

Located in Balboa Park, the Japanese Friendship Garden (JFG) opened to the public in 1991 and is an expression of friendship between San Diego and its sister city, Yokohama. The 12-acre garden is inspired from centuries-old Japanese design and techniques that showcase plants and florae native to Japan and San Diego.

Educational programs include Koi Feeding, Origami Sunday, and much more. Wellness programs provide sound meditation, weekly yoga, breath fitness, and Reiki healing. Cultural festivals and special events scheduled throughout the year.
