Homestead Museum

Homestead Museum is located in the heart of a former Mexican rancho and offers two historic houses, cemetery, and gardens.

The cemetery, El Campo Santo, is one of the oldest private cemeteries in Southern California and contains the remains of the original families that lived in the house and Pío Pico, the last governor of Alta California under Mexican rule.

Throughout the year, the museum offers a variety of special events and programs for youth and school groups.

Free guided tours of the homes are offered Friday to Sunday at 12, 1, 2, and 3 p.m. Guests must be part of a guided tour to visit the interior of the houses. They are closed the fourth weekend of every month.
