San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo is a 100-acre wildlife park and home to over 12,000 rare and endangered animals. Popular areas include Elephant Odyssey, Northern Frontier featuring polar bears, and Lost Forest featuring tigers and gorillas.

Visit the zoo’s newest interactive area, Wildlife Explorers Basecamp where kids can climb, scramble, and jump in immersive nature play areas. Learn even more about animals with wildlife care specialist talks and wildlife presentations throughout the zoo.

Explore the zoo on a guided bus tour or aerial tram. Upgrade your visit with special experiences like the Inside Look Tour, Early Morning Cheetah Experience, or the Exclusive VIP Experience. Take the 35-minute Guided Bus Tour upon your arrival for an overall view of the zoo and to acquaint yourself with the various areas where you would like to spend additional time.

KG Tip: Kids, ages 11 and younger, are free for the entire month of October. Enjoy HalGLOWeen on weekends in October, the colorful and glowing extravaganza with fun seasonal activities and Halloween-themed entertainment. From December 8–31, 2023 (except Dec. 24), familiar holiday traditions take on a wild twist at the Zoo’s Jungle Bells celebration.
